Information:
PRO LOGIC IIx
The Dolby® Pro Logic® IIx technology (PLIIx) extends the Dolby Pro Logic II
(PLII) matrix decoding technology. PL IIx up converts a Pro Logic II signal to a 5.1 or 6.1 output allowing perfectly balanced audio reproduction.
Dynamic compression
With the dynamic key you can alter the dynamic compression of the sound. This alters the volume difference between loud and quiet passages, between explosions and whispering for example. If you have sensitive neighbours and you would like to watch a movie at night, you should place this as high as possible. Maximum compression is DRC = 4/4, minimum compression, with full dynamics, is DRC=0/4. Simply press the DYNAMIC key to adjust.
Available Surround kinds
Surround sound provides the live experience in your living room, the sort of sound that it normally only available in cinemas.
Select the suitable Surround mode according to the source. Always make sure that all speakers are attached to enjoy DTS, Dolby Digital and Dolby Pro Logic II surround as they should be.
We recommend using the centre speaker for DTS, DOLBY DIGITAL and Dolby Pro Logic Surround II.
Press the DOLBY DIGITAL key
Activate the DOLBY PRO LOGIC or DTS enterprise, if the equipment is in analogue mode. If the signal is in the Dolby Digital format the system will switch itself automatically
DTS Digital Surround Mode
This equipment features DTS Digital Surround. This mode gives you the benefit of 5.1 (6) different high quality audio channels, for DVDs, compact discs etc. this enables you to have an unusually spatial 360° sound experience. DTS compatible films should always be played in this mode. (DTS is a trade mark of DTS Technology, LLC. Manufactured under license from DTS Technology LLC.)
DOLBY DIGITAL mode
This mode gives you the benefit of 5.1 (6) different high quality audio channels from Dolby Digital sources.
Connect a DVD player with a DOLBY digital output to the digital input (coaxial or optical) and experience great sound quality, accurate spatial representation and optimal dynamics. This results from 5 independent audio channels with full frequencies as well as the “LFE” (low frequency only effects channel) subwoofer channel. This three dimensional sound comes from 6 different audio channels resulting in superb spatial dynamics.
Dolby Digital EX
Using rear surround sound speakers, the Dolby Digital source runs through the
6.1 channel matrix decoder.
DTS-ES Discrete 7.1
With the addition of another rear surround channel this new format allows all 6.1 channels to be used independently. This independence of the channels allows for very high quality rendition with increased spatial dynamics.
K. DTS-ES matrix 7.1
This format codes the rear surround channel matrix and moves it to the left and right surround channels. The decoding takes place through an extremely precise matrix decoder.
Manufactured under license from Dolby Laboratories. “Dolby”, “Pro Logic” and the double D
Symbol are trade marks of Dolby Laboratories.
