Hi D. The transmitter has to be connected to the source (otherwise how can the speakers pick up the source sound?), so I’m afraid you would have no choice but to plug the transmitter into your laptop. This can be done via the 3.5mm jack.

where do you connect the transmitter to. I want the speakers for my laptop, but dont want the transmitter to be plugged into my laptop.

Hi Paul. There are lots of choices as far as the transmitter goes, you can connect it to the 3.5mm and 1/4inch jacks as well as a phono out if you have that. So don’t worry about connectivity.

Would like to buy these speakers to replace the rear channel speakers of my surround sound system so as to do without the wires, how does the transmitter connect to the rear channel speaker outputs of my AV amp?
