Sony DAV-DZ680W Speaker SystemThis is the Sony DAV-DZ680W, a very good looking piece of kit and also has some rave reviews from people who have purchased it.

In our opinion this is currently the best wireless surround sound system on the market in the UK, taking into consideration value for money. It is available from a range of sellers on Amazon who have different prices so you can pick who to buy from.

I wish to know (not being a techno wizard) is this system entirely wireless? Meaning that there are NO wires trailing everywhere to the speakers. I realise that that would be wires to the box and amp.If not not could advise of a system ie:- Sony Bravia to enhance my bravia tv? Thankyou Mike

Hi Mike. No systems available are truly wireless (the manufacturers simply don’t make them). The speakers are powered separately, so they have to be near to a mains plug. The only thing wireless is that you don’t have wires from the amp to the speakers.

    Hi there,
I am looking for something like this due to a wooden floor and do not want surface wiring on the walls. So, I assume the AMP/DVD connects to the TV (In my case Samsung LCD, with HDMI – Xbox currently connected to one of the three). The front speaker connects to the Amp using wire, and all of the remote use Wireless connectivity to the Amp and are powered by 13amp sockets?
    Many thanks, Carl

Hi Carl. As I understand it only the rear speakers become wireless, so the 2x tallboy speakers would be connected via the amp as well. I’m not 100% certain though so I’ve dropped an email to try and find out the answer and I will update this page when I get a reply.

UPDATE: I have now had it confirmed that only the rear 2 speakers become wireless. Regards, Chris.

Hi Archie. Unfortunately at the moment truly wireless systems don’t exist. You can read more about it in my blog post: http://www.aspecttv.co.uk/truly-wireless-surround-sound-system-please/555/

Hi guys. Just wanted to notify you I have found out about a system by Panasonic, called the SC-ZT1. On it you still have to plug the speakers into the mains supply. However all 4 of the speakers are wireless from the base station (unlike the Sony on this page where only 2 speakers are wireless). The Panasonic looks great as well, check it out: http://www.aspecttv.co.uk/panasonic-sc-zt1/567/

hi, do i have to buy anything else to make this system wireless. or can it be used wireless straight away? thanx

  11. Chris (Admin)

Hi, no you shouldn’t need to buy anything else. When the Sony products have the ‘W’ at the end it means they are wireless. Regards, Chris.
