Is this system ( sony HTSA5 5.1 ) compatible with sky hd
Would this system be compatible with my blue ray player and x box ?
Yes it should work fine with your blu-ray player and xbox player.
No this product IS NOT compatible with Sky HD, SKY HD causes HDCP copy protection issues when connected to the HTAS5.1 via HDMI. You can use it with SKY HD but have to connect your SKY HD box direct to your TV via HDMI to get video, and then connect your SKY HD via optical output to the HTAS5.1 to get audio through the AS5. This means that you will need to juggle multiple remotes. Far from ideal and SONY do not make this clear in their specification or advertising which they should do as they are making such a big thing of this being 3D ready.
Thanks for the info Stuart. You’re right, making a big thing of 3D to then having problems with Sky HD is very poor.
Hello,
Just wondering if by satellite it means the subwoofer and 2 of the small speakers are wireless?
