I’m afraid you will be disappointed.
Although there are what the manufacturers classify as ‘wireless systems’ they don’t completely eradicate the wires.
So why is this?
The rear speakers have to be powered by something. And you can’t transmit power through the airwaves. So they have to get the power somehow, and at the moment it normally means the transmitter on the back
of the speakers has a UK plug which is then plugged into a mains socket, so you still have wires.
Why then are the systems called ‘wireless’?
Because you don’t have to have wires going from the Amp to the speakers as you do with a normal system, this is why the manufacturers brand them as wireless.
The future
The big hope for us all would be that one day (soon) they will work out the technology so the only wire required is to plug the Amp in. That would be immense!
In the meantime – what’s closest?
A lot of the systems only allow the rear speakers to be wireless from the amp. However the Panasonic SC-ZT1 has all four with receivers in, and the system looks great as well so worth checking out as that is the closest you will get for the moment.
